The FluidLogic team took on the 2022 Long Beach Grand Prix with guest appearances from Colton Herta and Ryan Arciero.
We were thrilled to participate in the 2022 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach! It was a successful race weekend. Colton Herta competed in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES race, which he won in 2021, and 3x Baja 1000 Champion Ryan Arciero participated in the Stadium SUPER Trucks Race.
Both drivers ran the FluidLogic™ hydration system from RainMaker, the most advanced personal automated drink system available. FluidLogic delivers precise bursts of fluid through a nozzle integrated into the driver’s helmet microphone. Drivers are reminded by a steering wheel light to hit the steering wheel button.
Post-race, Herta said, “Grand Prix Long Beach is not only a huge event for Indycar, but it’s my home race. The challenge is in the car, driving around the walls, you need to be so precise around here. You need your mind right, you need your mind to be clear. That’s part of why I love the FluidLogic system. Keeps me focused.”
Arciero commented, “Hydration plays a huge role, and the FluidLogic system saved me. It is one of the most crucial things as a driver. Especially when you get into extreme environments like we do.”
A 2021 Michigan State study concluded that drivers’ reaction times suffered and errors increased due to inconsistent hydration when using the commonly used and outdated water bottle and hose system. Read more about the importance of hydration for athletes, and how FluidLogic can help here.
